That’s right, now you can officially be a medalist too…sort of.
The delicious treat the typically comes in cup form, but can be found throughout the year as pumpkins, eggs, and trees, is coming to you in medal form. Important to note, as time will tell how close to the medal shape we actually get, the disclaimer on the Reese’s site notes, “Decoration shown for illustration purposes only.” If it holds up to the picture, the medal design cut-out in the chocolate looks pretty awesome.
Per their product description, “Celebrate sweet victory with REESE’S Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Medals, our first-ever summer season shape! Shaped like gleaming gold, silver and bronze medals, these delicious treats combine the perfect blend of rich peanut butter and smooth milk chocolate. Whether you’re cheering on your favorite athletes or hosting your own medal-worthy festivities, these indulgent treats add a delightful twist to the spirit of competition.”
At $1.25 at our local grocery store, it is certainly more cost effective (though perhaps not as long lasting) than Bob Beamon’s gold medal which recently auctioned for $441,000. And at two per pack, you can have a Tamberi / Barshim moment of your own with a friend.
Already a fan of candy in its regular form, we’ll make sure to have a bowl full for our Olympic watch party.
