Another day, another big announcement from the growing fields at the Prefontaine Classic.
Grant Holloway, Hansle Parchment, and Daniel Roberts are going to be facing off in the 110m hurdles at the Diamond League meeting in Eugene on May 25.
At the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Holloway, Parchment, and Roberts were the podium finishers in that order. Holloway and Parchment have been traded spaces atop the podium on the world stage for a number of years now, with Holloway mostly getting the best of Parchment, save for the Olympics in Tokyo where Hansle passed Grant after the last hurdle for gold. Roberts earned his first global medal at those World Champs in Budapest.
Holloway boasts an impressive nine-year winning streak indoors in the 60 meter hurdles, and has gold medals from the last five World Championships (indoors and out). His personal best time of 12.81 seconds for the 110m hurdles is #2 all-time.
Parchment has been a mainstay on the global hurdles scene since his first Olympics in 2012 (London). He won bronze at those Games, and followed through the years with silver medals at the Beijing (2015) and Budapest (2023) World Championships, in addition to the aforementioned Olympic Gold from Tokyo. His personal best time in the 110m hurdles is 12.93 seconds.
Daniel Roberts’s personal best time in the event is 13.00 seconds, and was the 110mH bronze medalist at last year’s World Championships. At the 2019 USATF Outdoor Championships, he earned a gold medal over Holloway who finished in second.
