What track meet experience is on the top of your bucket list? For many (including me!) it would be the Monaco meet. It’s like the Prefontaine Classic – guaranteed breathtaking matchups between the world’s best – but in Monaco!
This year’s Monaco Diamond League event is the purest version of a Paris Olympic preview in many events. The highest hype is appropriately on the 400m hurdles. Three men have changed the game in this event, with collectively the 15 (!) fastest times ever, but it’s been two and a half years since they have been in the same race.
Who are you picking? I could easily make a case for Karsten Warholm (he ALWAYS shows up), Alison dos Santos (hottest of the three this year so far) or Rai Benjamin (fresh off an easy Olympic Trials win). Maybe a USA bias at work here but my gut says this is Rai’s time to shine. We’ll see.
