Quincy Wilson sets 400 meter national record; Sadie Engelhardt #2 Mile All-Time
At the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, Quincy Wilson ran the fastest indoor 400m all-time for a prep. The high school junior’s finishing time was 45.66 seconds, which was also good enough to win the race against an elite field. At the same meet, on the women’s side, senior Sadie Engelhardt ran the second fastest time in the indoor mile in U.S. high school history with a 4:29.34, finishing seventh in the race among the pros.
Ryan Crouser to star in Super Bowl commercial for Michelob ULTRA
The shot put Olympic Champion will be broadcast on Sunday in an ad for Michelob ULTRA which will air during one of the Super Bowl’s coveted commercial spots. The kicker? He will be showcasing a different sport: pickleball. A teaser video is currently posted to Crouser’s Instagram.
Fred Kerley pleads not guilty in assault charge
On Monday, Fred Kerley pleaded not guilty to charges of battery by strangulation and robbery by sudden snatching, related to a May 2024 incident involving his wife. This is a separate matter from the public dispute with law enforcement last month. According to the arrest report, the altercation began after she confronted him about an Instagram message, leading to a physical confrontation. Kerley’s legal team maintains his innocence.
Alexi Pappas stars in film, “Not An Artist”
“Not An Artist” is a comedy-drama that follows writer Alice, portrayed by Pappas, as she attends a prestigious residency, where participants must create their best work within thirty days or agree to cease creating art altogether. Critics praise the film for its entertaining exploration of what it means to be an artist and the factors that can help or hinder creative expression. “Not an Artist” was written and directed by Alexi Pappas and partner Jeremy Teicher and also stars Haley Joel Osment and RZA.
Official Tokyo25 Partner, Honda delivers electric SUV to World Athletics headquarters
Honda Motor Company has signed a sponsorship agreement with World Athletics to become an official global partner for the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships, scheduled from September 13 – 21. As part of this partnership, Honda will provide vehicles from its electrified fleet to serve as the official transportation for the event. Recently, World Athletics President Sebastian Coe received a Honda electric SUV at the organization’s headquarters in Monaco.
