Tee’s Take: Sha’Carri Richardson on the Meaning of Time in Running and in Life

This documentary is nothing short of inspiring. We need way way more of this type of story telling. I feel that it is so important to show what athletes go through and how they get to the position that they’re in. That’s what I try to do with my platform, Real Talk.

The highest human act is to inspire. To create a documentary like this to show how a person really feels off the track is important and can only help our sport to grow. We can all relate in some way to how Sha’Carri feels. As a black woman sometimes we feel like people put their expectations on this, rather than letting be who we truly are.

Personally I haven’t really experienced this in my field. I feel like everyone has been very open to how I present myself, but as an athlete she clearly doesn’t feel that way. As we all grow and become better human beings, we’ll learn to be our genuine selves.

I wish Sha’Carri nothing but the best. I am rooting for her and adore her as an athlete and I can’t wait for her to open up her 2022 season.
