Ritzenhein joins a cadre of up and coming stars who have signed with the Swiss shoe brand, which also recently announced the signing of Stanford’s Lex and Leo Young, though she is On’s first high school signee. Addison, in just her sophomore year at Niwot, is the 2023 Nike Cross Nationals champion and was named the 2023-24 Gatorade Cross Country Player of the Year.
Gary Martin is just the second athlete to sign an NIL deal with Brooks running, joining the University of Arkansas’s Shawnti Jackson who signed with the brand last year. In his sophomore year at UVA, he already holds school records in the mile (3:54.73) and 3000m (7:47.49), each during this past indoor season, and has followed that just a few months into the outdoor season with Cavalier records 1500m (3:37.66) and 5k (13:31.51). During his prep running career, he was the first Pennsylvania high school runner to go sub-4 in the mile.
