Veteran Pole Vaulter Sandi Morris is a favorite of the AthleteBiz team, having been perhaps the most creative and enthusiastic athlete we’ve ever worked with. Her fierce competitive drive on the vaulting runway is matched only by her vibrant personality off it, making every project together an absolute joy.
Sandi has reached new heights in 2026. She is putting together a terrific season on the global circuit, highlighted by a victory at the USATF National Outdoor Championships in New York City where she cleared a season-best 4.90m (16-0.75) to capture her sixth outdoor national title and tenth (!) overall USA Champion crown. At age 34, she is defying the odds and scaling heights she had not matched in years, and has firmly positioned herself as one of the top contenders for the World Ultimate Championship title in Budapest this September. Sandi’s performance surge this year has renewed her commitment to pursue a spot on the USA team at the Los Angeles Olympics in two years.
Perhaps the coolest collaboration AthleteBiz did with Sandi was commissioning painter George Papadakis to create a striking custom portrait of her in action. This mixed-media creation captures her athleticism, focus, and beauty. Nine years ago the piece successfully attracted a $10,000 donation to support her elite training regimen. The best part of that story is that the generous donor ultimately gifted the painting back to Sandi’s family.
Reflecting on the portrait and her roots, Sandi told us this week:
“My parents still have the painting and it’s hung in my mom’s sewing room! She is a seamstress and has run her own business doing custom interior decor since me and my sisters were born. She’s also the reason I am so crafty with my uniforms and can sew, bedazzle, and stitch whatever needs a little fix ;)”
As Sandi heads toward the global stage in Budapest, her unique blend of artistic flair, family support, and world-class vaulting continues to set her apart as a true icon of the sport.
