Jess McClain, the 4th place finisher at the Olympic Trials Marathon, announced on Instagram that she has signed with Brooks Running.
This is Jess’s second time with Brooks, as she had originally signed with them in 2015 as part of the Brooks Beasts. She wrote, “So happy and honored to be a Brooks athlete again. It felt right in July of 2015 when I signed my first professional contract with Brooks and it feels just as right now, almost nine years later.”
While at Stanford, McClain (née Tonn) was a seven-time All-American and earned a PAC-12 conference title in the 10k. Shortly after finishing her time in Palo Alto in 2015, she moved to Seattle to join the Brooks Beasts, signing her first contract with Brooks, which would last until 2018. Since that time she has competed unattached while establishing herself as a marketing professional.
At the 2024 Olympic Trials Marathon in Orlando, she finished in 4th place running a personal best time of 2:25:46. Her inaugural try at the distance came just 8 months prior at the 2023 Grandma’s Marathon, where she ran an impressive 2:29:25 in her debut.
In addition to the marathon, McClain boasts impressive PRs of 4:16.21 (1500m), 15:18.85 (5000m), and 31:54.83 (10,000m).
