The Drake Relays announced today that three-time Olympian Lolo Jones would be inducted into the event’s Hall of Fame.
Per the press release, “Jones became the first four-time winner in the Drake Relays invitational women’s 100m hurdles capturing consecutive titles from 2005-08. She was named the outstanding women’s performer of the 2008 Drake Relays after setting a meet record of 12.74 seconds. She finished second in the 100 hurdles at the 2010 and 2011 Drake Relays. Jones also ran the second leg on a women’s all-star team which won the invitational shuttle hurdle relay at the 2014 Drake Relays.”
In addition to her success at the Drake Relays, Jones won multiple USA Championships indoors in the 60 meter hurdles, and competed for Team USA at two Olympic Games on the track (100mH: 2008 and 2012), and in a Winter Olympics in 2014 as part of the USA Bobsled team. She is a two-time World Champion (2008 and 2010) in the 60 meter hurdles. At the 2010 World Championships in Doha, she ran a Championship Record time of 7.72 seconds. She boasts a personal best in the 100 meter hurdles of 12.43 seconds, set at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
Before her professional career, Jones made a name for her self at Louisiana State University (LSU), where she was a three-time NCAA Champion and 11-time All-American.
The ceremony is to take place on April 25 at the Courtside Club in the Knapp Center on the Drake University campus.
