After 12 years with Skechers, Meb Keflezighi announced today that he has signed with New Balance.
In a post to Instagram, Meb wrote, “Excited to join the New Balance family! Thank you for the warm welcome, I look forward to what the future holds for us.”
This is the third primary shoe / apparel sponsor Meb has had since first signing with Nike in 1999 after graduating from UCLA. He remained with Nike through the 2010 season and signed with Skechers in 2011.
Meb credits Skechers with extending his competitive running career, which included two additional Olympic teams and a Boston Marathon victory with the brand; he is now moving toward ambassadorship within the running space under the New Balance banner.
