Taking His Talents to the Broadcast Booth

In celebration of Meb Keflezighi’s 10 year anniversary of his 2014 Boston Marathon victory, we will be featuring a Celebration of Meb, highlighting and sharing an aspect of Meb’s life on and off the track and roads leading up to the 2024 Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15. We are thankful to both Meb and Hawi (Meb’s brother and agent) for their partnership on this feature.

Over his 15 year marathon career, it was not uncommon to see Meb on the world’s biggest stages, from Olympic Games to the New York and Boston Marathons. Since retiring from competitive running however, now we get to hear Meb on these great stages, in the broadcast booth.

Meb first took to the mic at the 2023 Boston Marathon, joining John Anderson, Carrie Tollefson, and a host of industry veterans. He said after the airing, “I was more nervous about this new role than any of the marathons I’ve raced. During a marathon race you can slow down and collect yourself, but on live TV you have to be spot on. I’m grateful for my fellow teammates on the stage and the production team for helping make it a smooth and positive experience for me.”
