The elite mile field at the Penn Relays will include On Athletics Club teammates and national record holders Yared Nuguse (USA) and Olli Hoare (AUS).
The Benjamin Franklin Men’s Mile presented by Toyota will be a marquee event at the upcoming Penn Relays with a full cast of phenomenal milers. Nuguse leads the field fresh off a 2023 season in which he set new records in numerous distances, including an American Record in the 1500m (3:29.02), mile (3:43.97), and 3000m (7:28.24i). Oliver “Olli” Hoare is the Australian Record holder for the mile, having run 3:47.48 in 2022 and followed with the national record in the 1500m (3:29.41) the next year. Eric Holt, who finished third at last year’s running, and Josh Thompson will also be toeing the line at Franklin Field among a full field of sub-4 minute milers.
New Zealand’s Geordie Beamish, who won the men’s elite mile at the 2023 Penn Relays, is scheduled to be this year’s pacer.
