Off-Season in Alaska

Share this article:

Off season has historically been a challenging time for me, especially when my season doesn’t end quite how I want it to. This year, my outdoor track season ended at USA’s, after I had raced only three times. Although I wished I could continue to race and better showcase my fitness, my body was telling me that it was time to take a break. As much as I want to get right back to intense training and work toward the big goals I missed last season, my past has taught me that a relaxed and restorative off season is essential for a long competitive season. For that reason, I’ve spent a lot of time visiting family, hiking, planning for the year ahead, and just enjoying a relaxed late summer and early fall. Here’s a YouTube video I made encapsulating a few of the moments from my off season. Hope you enjoy!
