The 2024 Paris Olympics will be Yohan Blake’s “last dance,” the sprint star told an Indian newspaper last week.

The Jamaican, who was the youngest-ever 100m world champion told his plans to the Mumbai newspaper Mid-Day while he acted as an ambassador for the Mumbai Marathon in early January.

Blake said he plans to focus on the 100m and 4x100m relay at the upcoming 2023 World Championships in Budapest and the Paris Olympics.

“Doing the 200, 100 and relays simply takes a lot out of you, so these are the events I want to focus on for 2024” Blake said.

“Paris 2024 should be my last dance,” he added.

Blake is one of the most decorated Olympic sprinters of all time with six Olympic and World Championship medals to his name. Nicknamed the “Beast” by his former training partner Usain Bolt, he is also the second-fastest man ever at the 100m and 200m behind Bolt.
