The reigning world champion in the 400m hurdles is set to make his return to the track soon and very soon.
It was announced on Monday that Alison Dos Santos is set to make his season debut at the Monaco Diamond League in the 400m hurdles. He suffered a knee injury earlier in the year, resulting in him missing most of the season thus far.
Before his injury, Dos Santos was a force to be reckoned with in the 400m hurdles. Last season he found great success in the event, going undefeated in all of his races, while also taking home the world championship, as well as the Diamond League title at the end of the season. He set the championship record in Eugene with an incredible time of 46.92.
Dos Santos will be up against stiff competition when he toes the line in Monaco on July 21. He’ll face the fastest man to ever run the event and the current world leader, Karsten Warholm. Warholm has run 46.52 so far this season, and is looking to return to his world record-breaking form prior to this year’s World Championship in Budapest.
