One of the best 800m runners in the United States is now a member of the prestigious Brooks Beasts.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Brandon Miller signed with the Beasts, adding to the star-power that they have on the roster.

“Having an opportunity to join Brooks is such a blessing,” Miller said on social media. I chose the Beasts because throughout the recruiting process they showed me so much love, and it was genuine. Heading into 2024, I want to put my head down and work, enjoy the process, and let God handle the rest!”

Miller formerly trained under the legendary coach Bobby Kersee in Los Angeles. His personal best time in the 800m is 1:44.97, which he ran in college at Texas A&M the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2021. Miller won two indoor national titles during his time at Texas A&M.

The Brooks Beasts squad is based in Seattle, Washington and is led by head coach Danny Mackey. Mackey has coached a countless number of Olympians, world record holders and world champions, including this year’s men’s 1500m world champion, Josh Kerr of Great Britain.

I’m a sports journalist based in Florida and I’ve covered a couple of different sports so far early on in my career, but I love the sport of track and field and the art of running. Everyone has a story and everyone has a story worth telling. My prayer is that the stories of the great athletes of this sport are told, and that the sport grows to new creative heights, so that the sport gets the respect it deserves.
