After a historic and record breaking season on the track, Britton Wilson is moving on from the college track and field world.

It was announced on Wednesday that the talented sprinter/hurdler will be foregoing her final season at the University of Arkansas, and has gone pro. She signed with the HSI Sports Agency, who announced the news on Twitter Wednesday morning.

“HSInternational Sports Management (HSI) is pleased and proud to announce the signing of the collegiate 400 meter record-holder and American indoor 400m record-holder, Britton Wilson,” the agency shared on Twitter.

Wilson had a season to remember on the track, and one of the best seasons in college track and field history. She set the NCAA record in the 400m with her time of 49.13 in the event. She also ran the fourth fastest time in the 400m hurdles, with an impressive time of 53.28.

Wilson doubled in the 400m, as well as the 400m hurdles throughout the season, recording these impressive marks within a short period of time between races.

On the International level, Wilson was a member of Team USA’s women’s 4x400m relay squad that took home the gold at last summer’s world championships in Eugene, Oregon. She also competed in the 400m hurdles as well.

I’m a sports journalist based in Florida and I’ve covered a couple of different sports so far early on in my career, but I love the sport of track and field and the art of running. Everyone has a story and everyone has a story worth telling. My prayer is that the stories of the great athletes of this sport are told, and that the sport grows to new creative heights, so that the sport gets the respect it deserves.
