Two of the best athletes in the world are going back to the United States with gold medals after their incredible respective performances at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow.
Christian Coleman took home the gold in the men’s 60m, holding off Noah Lyles to take the win with his time of 6.41 seconds. Ryan Crouser showed his dominance once again, taking home the gold medal after throwing 22.77m in the men’s shot put.
Coleman took home the world championship in the men’s 60m for the second time in his career. He ran in control in all three rounds of the men’s 60m, winning the first round with a time of 6.49 and the semifinal round of 6.43, which was formerly the world leading time that was held by Noah Lyles.
Coleman got out to a blazing start in the finals, and never looked back. Noah Lyles finished as the runner up with his time of 6.44.
Crouser made quick work of the competition, and earned his first world indoor title of his career. Crouser’s first throw of 22.36 would have won the competition, but he continued to showcase his skills, recording a new championship record mark of 22.77m. Tom Walsh finished as the runner-up with his mark of 22.07m.
