Boston will be the place to be in early February, as some of the best stars in the sport are set to gather at the New Balance Grand Prix to kick off what looks to be a fun 2024 season.
Shortly before the Christmas holiday, it was announced that Grant Holloway, Gudaf Tsegay as well as Marco Arop will be participating at the NBGP that’s set to take place on February 4.
All three athletes who were recently announced won gold medals last year at the World Championships in Budapest. The meet is a part of the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series that’s taking place around the world this indoor season.
Holloway has been a man amongst boys when it comes to the 60m hurdles (indoor) and the 110m hurdles (outdoor.) He holds the world record in the indoor event, and hasn’t lost an indoor race since his high school days.
Tsegay will headline the women’s indoor 1500m race. The talented Ethiopian has found great success in the indoor 1500m over the years. She holds the world record in the indoor event, as well as the outdoor 10,000m.
Arop is looking to replicate a very successful 2023 season, one which saw him win a gold medal at the World Championships in Budapest in the men’s 800m, which was the first of his career. He will compete in the men’s 800m at the NBIGP.
