The Honolulu Marathon is set to take place in Hawaii this weekend, and it’s shaping up to be an exciting race for the athletes who are competing, as well as for the fans.
Prior to the marathon on Sunday, a handful of the world’s best runners will take part in the Kalakaua Merrie Mile, which is set to be run on Saturday, December 9.
The women’s race will include some of the best middle distance athletes from around the world. Elle St. Pierre will make her return to the race after winning the event in 2019. Nikki Hiltz, along with Emily Lipari and Weini Kelati, will also be making their return to the event. Nozomi Tanaka, Susan Ejore, Dani Jones and Rachel Smith will be making their Kalakaua Merrie Mile debut and round out the women’s field.
Neil Gourley returns to the Kalakaua Merrie Mile as the event’s reigning champion. Hobbs Kessler, Matthew Centrowitz and Mason Ferlic will be making their return to the event as well. Morgan Beadlescomb (who is on a notable hot streak following wins at the Abbott Dash and Manchester Road Race), Geordie Beamish, Mario García Romo, Vince Ciattei and Yared Nuguse will be making their Kalakaua Merrie Mile debut and round out the men’s field.
