One of the greatest runners in NCAA Division III history has now signed with a prestigious running club.
It was announced last Friday that former Loras College distance standout and collegiate record holder Kassie Parker had signed with the Hansons-Brooks Original Distance Project.
“We are excited to add Kassie Parker from Loras College to our women’s team,” The club announced on Twitter. “ She is a 7 time Individual and 4 time Team National Champion. She holds Division 3 National records for the indoor 5,000m and the 5,000m and 10,000m outdoor.”
Parker has kept busy since graduating from Loras and turning pro. Since she’s turned pro, Kassie has competed in the women’s 10k at the USATF Outdoor Championships in July, where she finished in 9th place. She also competed at the USATF Women’s 6K Championships in Canton, Ohio, where she earned another top 10 finish.
The Hansons-Brooks Original Distance Project, which has been around since 1999, has fielded some of the talented runners in the world. Parker joins the likes of Anne-Marie Blaney, Jessie Cardin and Kathryn Munks among the other talented runners in the group.
