After accomplishing great things on the collegiate level, Katelyn Tuohy has turned pro.

The talented and storied athlete who competed for N.C. State announced on Instagram that she’d made the decision to turn pro, and will be competing for Adidas.

“As I reflect on the past 3 1/2 years of my journey at NC State I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the support, guidance, and encouragement I’ve received,” she said on Instagram. “The experience of being part of this team has been very special, shaping me not only as an athlete but also as an individual. The lessons learned, the friendships formed, and the moments shared will forever hold a special place in my heart

With that being said, I am super excited to announce that I will be running professionally for Adidas! I am looking forward to this next chapter and the opportunities that lie ahead!! Thank you Adidas and Adidas Running for adding me to the three stripe family ///”

Tuohy had a remarkable career as a member of the Wolfpack. She helped N.C. State captured three straight cross country titles, while also winning one of her own during her career. On the track, she has NCAA records in the indoor mile (4:24.26) and the 3000m (8:35.2). She won three national titles on the track, with two titles coming in the indoor season last year (3000m, 5000m) and in the outdoor season in 2022 (5000m.)

I’m a sports journalist based in Florida and I’ve covered a couple of different sports so far early on in my career, but I love the sport of track and field and the art of running. Everyone has a story and everyone has a story worth telling. My prayer is that the stories of the great athletes of this sport are told, and that the sport grows to new creative heights, so that the sport gets the respect it deserves.
