A classic showdown in the pole vault is set to take place at the Millrose Games in February.

Teammates and friends Katie Nageotte and Sandi Morris are set to face off in the women’s pole vault at the Millrose Games on February 11, which will be held at the Armory in New York.

Nageotte is the reigning Olympic gold medalist and world champion in the event. She also took home the silver medal at the World Indoor Championships last year. She is fourth all time in the event, with a personal best of 4.95m.

“The Armory is one of the best facilities in the country with some of the highest jumps on American soil,” Nageotte said in the press release. “I’m excited to come back and jump there!”

Sandi Morris has been a model of consistency in the pole vault over the years. She’s third all time in the event with a personal best of 5.00m, and she’s won two Indoor World Championships titles. She’s also taken home three silver medals at the World Championships, and was the silver medalist at both the Rio and Tokyo Olympic Games.

The Millrose Games is a part of the World Athletics Indoor Tour, and it is classified as a Gold Level Meet.

I’m a sports journalist based in Florida and I’ve covered a couple of different sports so far early on in my career, but I love the sport of track and field and the art of running. Everyone has a story and everyone has a story worth telling. My prayer is that the stories of the great athletes of this sport are told, and that the sport grows to new creative heights, so that the sport gets the respect it deserves.
