There will be no shortage of superstars at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in early February.

It was recently announced that 200m world champion and American record holder Noah Lyles, Olympic bronze and silver medalist Gabby Thomas, as well as 1500m world champion Jake Wightman will take part in the meet in Boston on February 4.

Lyles, who participated and won the 60m at the New Balance Grand Prix last season, had an historic year. Not only did he win the World Championship in the 200m and set the American record in the event, but he went undefeated in the 200m as well. Lyle’s personal best in the 60m is 6.55, a mark that he set last season at the Müller Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham.

Wightman will be running in the 3000m at the New Balance Grand Prix in February. Wightman is coming off of a successful campaign last year that resulted in him winning the 1500m title at the World Championships in Oregon. He also took home a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games, and a bronze medal at the European Championships. He’ll also be competing in the 2000m in Birmingham later on in February.

Gabby Thomas is looking to bounce back after dealing with an unfortunate injury last season. The talented 200m specialist has a personal best of 21.61, which is the second fastest 200m time in American history. According to the press release, this is her fifth time running at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix.

I’m a sports journalist based in Florida and I’ve covered a couple of different sports so far early on in my career, but I love the sport of track and field and the art of running. Everyone has a story and everyone has a story worth telling. My prayer is that the stories of the great athletes of this sport are told, and that the sport grows to new creative heights, so that the sport gets the respect it deserves.
