Noah Lyles is one of the most entertaining and exciting athletes in the sport of track and field. He’s now also one of the wealthiest.

On Monday, it was announced by Global Athletics and Marketing that Lyles has signed an extension with Adidas that will take him through the 2028 Olympic Games.

While the details of the contract have not been released, according to the official press release, “The agreement involves extensive commitments both on and off the track and is the richest contract in the sport of track and field since the retirement of Usain Bolt.”

“When I first signed with Adidas in 2016 along with my brother Josephus, that was like a dream come true for us.  And today is just a continuation of that childhood dream,” he said in the official press release. “Adidas is not only taking care of me and my family at a level I could only imagine, but they understand me and my vision – not only do I want to achieve all I can in this sport both on and off the track, but I want to make real change and improvements in the sport and how it’s run for the generations that come after me. That is what drives me.”

Lyles is the reigning world champion in the men’s 100m and 200m, and is set to compete at the World Athletics Indoor World Championships in the 60m in Glasgow.

I’m a sports journalist based in Florida and I’ve covered a couple of different sports so far early on in my career, but I love the sport of track and field and the art of running. Everyone has a story and everyone has a story worth telling. My prayer is that the stories of the great athletes of this sport are told, and that the sport grows to new creative heights, so that the sport gets the respect it deserves.
