Champions will be crowned on Saturday and Sunday in Eugene, as some of the best athletes in the sport will compete at the Prefontaine Classic, which will also serve as the Diamond League final.

The final track meet of the year will be filled with some of the best stars in the sport, as they take the track and the field for the final time this year. The men’s and women’s field will include world champions, Olympic champions and world record holders in multiple events.

Femke Bol will look to conclude her dominant season in the 400m hurdles. Bol took home two gold medals at the World Championships in Budapest (400m hurdles, 4x400m relay) in impressive form.

Noah Lyles put on a show in Budapest winning the triple crown with his gold medals in the men’s 100m, the 200m and the men’s 4×100 relay. He’ll look to finish his remarkable season with a win in the men’s 100m.

Katie Moon and Nia Kennedy shared the gold medal in Budapest after an intense battle in the women’s pole vault. They’ll battle it out once more in Eugene for the Diamond League title.

For a full rundown of athletes competing, visit the official meet website. The Prefontaine Classic will take place from September 16-17.

I’m a sports journalist based in Florida and I’ve covered a couple of different sports so far early on in my career, but I love the sport of track and field and the art of running. Everyone has a story and everyone has a story worth telling. My prayer is that the stories of the great athletes of this sport are told, and that the sport grows to new creative heights, so that the sport gets the respect it deserves.
