Team USA dominates at the U23 NACAC Championships

The future is very bright for USATF, and the U23 NACAC Championships proved just that.

The talented roster of athletes from all over the country who competed for Team USA at the event, which was held in Costa Rica, dominated the competition. The U23 team took home an impressive 49 medals at the meet, with 24 of the medals being gold medals. The team also broke eight meet records as well.

17-year-old track and field sensation Mia Brahe-Pedersen continued her historic campaign with another elite performance in the women’s 100m. She broke the meet record with her winning time of 11.08 in the event. She also won the women’s 200m with her time of 23.05, and ran the anchor leg in the women’s 4×100, who not only won the race, but broke the meet record in the event with their time of 42.74.

Stanford’s Cole Sprout had a big day in the men’s 5000m, winning the race with his time of 14:11.78, which was a meet record. Sydney Horn of High Point University delivered a great performance in the women’s pole vault, winning the event with her 4.41m vault, which was also a meet record. Texas A&M’s Jermaisha Arnold broke the meet record in the women’s 400m, winning the event with her time of 50.68.
