The New York City Marathon just became more accessible for viewers located near and far.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Tata Consultancy Services, along with New York Road Runners launched the 2022 New York Marathon App, which is the first of its kind for major marathons.

The app, which is free of charge, will livestream the entirety of the marathon. The app has a Second Screen feature, which allows viewers to enjoy uninterrupted coverage of the leaders in the men’s and women’s races, as well as the men’s and women’s wheelchair races.

A few features that the app also offers include cheer cards, which allows fans to share messages of support on social media, live leaderboards and bios for professional athletes, spectator guides and more.

The app is now available for iPhone and Android devices on the App Store and Google Play. The New York City Marathon will take place on Sunday, Nov. 6.

I’m a sports journalist based in Florida and I’ve covered a couple of different sports so far early on in my career, but I love the sport of track and field and the art of running. Everyone has a story and everyone has a story worth telling. My prayer is that the stories of the great athletes of this sport are told, and that the sport grows to new creative heights, so that the sport gets the respect it deserves.
