If you thought that the 2023 track and field season had come to a close, then you were greatly mistaken.
On Thursday, USATF announced the roster that will represent Team USA at the 2023 Pan American Games that’s set to take place from October 22. This will be the 19th edition of the Pan American Games.
Team USA will showcase 77 talented athletes (40 men, 37 women) at the Pan American Games, with a number of athletes on the roster having competed on World Championships teams over the years.
The women’s team will be represented with elite talent, such as Alaysha Johnson, who was one of the best women’s 100m hurdlers in the world this season. This year’s world championship bronze medalist in the women’s hammer throw, DeAnna Price will lead Team USA in the event, alongside Brooke Andersen, who won the women’s hammer throw at the 2022 World Championships in Oregon. Emily Infield and Taylor Werner will represent Team USA in the women’s 5000m.
Chris Robinson, the 2023 NCAA Track and Field Outdoor men’s 400m hurdles champion, will look to add to a remarkable his season at the Pan American Games. Emmanuel Bor will look to lead Team USA in the men’s 5000m, alongside Kasey Knevelbaard, who will also compete in the 1500.
The Pan American Games is a highly anticipated multi-sport event that brings together athletes from across the Americas to showcase their talents and compete for glory. This prestigious tournament is held every four years and is the second oldest continental games in the world. Now in its 19th edition, the event gathers some of the finest athletes in track and field, swimming, gymnastics, and many other disciplines. The Pan American Games will be held in Santiago, Chile.
