What can be done to elevate Track and Field?

Share this article:

What can be done to grow the sport of track and field, and for others to take the sport seriously?

That’s been the hot topic of conversation as of late. It started with a tweet from Canadian sprinter Aaron Brown, and it continued when sprint legend Carl Lewis offered his thoughts.

This isn’t the first time that the topic of conversation has been brought up, and it certainly won’t be the last. Coach Dante Perkins of the Future Track Club joins me to discuss this topic in the latest episode of Track Talk.

I’m a sports journalist based in Florida and I’ve covered a couple of different sports so far early on in my career, but I love the sport of track and field and the art of running. Everyone has a story and everyone has a story worth telling. My prayer is that the stories of the great athletes of this sport are told, and that the sport grows to new creative heights, so that the sport gets the respect it deserves.
