The USATF 25k Road Championships were held in conjunction with the River Bank Run in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Betsy Saina and Diego Estrada came away from the race with fresh USA titles and each an American Record.
Estrada was first to break the tape on the men’s side, finishing the race in 1:13:10, which is 38 seconds faster than the record set by Parker Stinson on this same course in 2019. Nico Montanez (1:13:29) and Biya Simbassa (1:13:43) rounded out the podium for the men in the overall results.
Saina’s time of 1:22:32 is a new women-only record for the distance, and is her second consecutive 25k Championship victory. Minnesota Distance Elite teammates Annie Frisbie (1:22:35) and Dakotah Lindwurm (1:23:06) finished in second and third, respectively.
