The Prefontaine Classic fields are getting more and more stacked with each passing day.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Kenny Bednarek, Erriyon Knighton, and Letsile Tebogo would be running the 200 meters, and today the announcement came that Sha’Carri Richardson and Christian Coleman will be headlining the women’s and men’s 100 meters.

Richardson has already run two Diamond League events this year in the 200 meters, finishing second in Xiamen in 22.99 and third in Suzhou in 23.11 seconds. She boasts a wind-legal personal best in the 100 meters (the event she will be running at the Pre Classic) of 10.65 seconds from 2023. Marie-Josée Ta Lou and Julian Alfred are also scheduled to be on the starting line.

Coleman also competed in Xiamen and Suzhou, finishing those 100m contests in 10.13 for first and 10.04 for second, respectively. He also had a busy indoor season, which included a Millrose Games 60m win and a runner-up finish at the USATF Indoor Championships in the same event. At the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, he earned gold in the 60m. It is also expected that Ferdinand Omanyala will be in the field for the 100m.
