UPDATE: Quincy Wilson Runs ANOTHER U18 World Record; Headed to 400m Finals

Wilson, a 16-year-old from the Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, ran 44.66 seconds in his heat, winning the race and qualifying for the semifinals. Overall, his time was the second fastest of the day, .06 seconds behind 2023 World Championships Bronze Medalist Quincy Hall.

With the impressive win, Wilson earned the Olympic Standard for the 400 meters, meaning that if he makes it through the semis and finishes top-3 in the final, he will have punched his ticket to Paris.

The semi-final round for the 400m will take place on Sunday at 9:35pm ET. There will be three semi-final races, with the top-2 finishers from each race plus the next three fastest competitors advancing to the final round. The 400 meter final will take place the following day, scheduled for 9:59pm ET.
