This week on Real Talk, I had the pleasure of meeting World Gold Medalist Talitha Diggs. Raised in Pennsylvania, Talitha has a family of many many track stars including her mom who is four-time Olympian. Her mom encouraged her to try every sport she could, but of course track was all she needed. World Gold Medalist (4×400), 2022 USATF Outdoor Champion (400m), NCAA Indoor & Outdoor Champion (400m) are a list of accolades Talitha can add from her sophomore season.
Off the track Talitha expresses she loves school and believes education is just as important as athletics. Talitha is pursuing a double major in international studies and political science, and spends some of her free time reading books if she’s feeling the book could take her one or two days to finish.
In this episode Talitha takes us through her entire journey from the start. Raised in Saucon Valley, Pennsylvania she shares with us what she remembers from her childhood. “Coming to University of Florida is one of the top three best decisions I’ve made in my life,” she shares with us. Talitha is entering this season extra motivated, as she wasn’t happy with her open 400m performance at World Championships, Oregon 22. I can’t wait to see what she will accomplish next season.
