Letsile Tebogo to open his season with 400m in Melbourne

Tebogo, the Olympic 200 meter champion, has announced that he will open his 2025 campaign at the Maurie Plant Meet in Melbourne, Australia on March 29. He will be running the 400m, an event he only raced once as an individual in 2024, running 44.29 for a personal best at the Pretoria meeting. Tebogo will be lining up in Melbourne against his Paris silver-medal winning 4×400m relay countrymen Bayapo Ndori, Leungo Scotch and Victor Ntweng.

Dani Jones to Very Nice Track Club

Dani Jones announced that she has parted ways with Team Boss and joined the Very Nice Track Club. She will be coached by Sierra Willis and Ronnie Warhurst. The Ann Arbor, Michigan based group boasts a strong lineup, including Olympians Hobbs Kessler and Ben Flanagan.

Bermuda Grand Prix in jeopardy

The Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) has withdrawn its support for the USATF Bermuda Grand Prix, citing challenges in achieving the desired return on investment in the post-Olympic landscape. This decision casts doubt on the event’s continuation, as the BTA was the title sponsor and largest backer of the event. Additionally, the Bermuda National Athletics Association turned down the opportunity to host the 2025 NACAC Championships, noting a lack of rooms for competing athletes at a time of heightened tourism.

Nike Vaporfly 4 expected for April launch

Nike is set to release the ZoomX VaporFly NEXT% 4, the latest in its high-performance running series, in April 2025. This model is expected to be the lightest yet, weighing approximately 190 grams for a men’s size 10, featuring design elements inspired by the AlphaFly 3, such as an outer lip around the heel and an enlarged Swoosh logo extending into the midsole. The Vaporfly 4 is expected to retail for $260 and be available in numerous colorways.

Chepngetich and Jepchirchir slated for London Marathon

The women’s field for the London Marathon will now have both the returning champion and the current world record holder, as Peres Jepchirchir and Ruth Chepngetich have been announced to be on the starting line in April, joining yesterday’s announcement of Olympic champion Sifan Hassan.
