USATF Para Championships to run concurrent with Outdoor Championships in Eugene

For the first time, the USATF Para Championships will take place at the same time in the same location as the Outdoor Championships this summer. Taking place in Eugene at Hayward Field, the Para events are scheduled for July 31 through August 2, and the non-Para championships will continue one day further. The competition will be the qualifying meet for the 2025 Para Athletics World Championships, which are to take place in Delhi, India in September.

Athletics takes biggest hit in Team GB funding cut

UK Sport has announced a reduction in funding for UK Athletics by nearly £1.75 million for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic cycle, decreasing from £22.18 million to £20.45 million. This decision comes despite Team Great Britain’s track and field athletes securing 10 medals in Paris, their best performance since 1984. The cuts come following a reported £3.7 million loss in the 2022-23 fiscal year. UK Athletics is actively lobbying UK Sport to reconsider the funding decision, emphasizing the potential negative impact on athlete support and preparation for future competitions.

Vause earned the New Mexico state cross country Gatorade Player of the Year award during his junior season.

The ad includes Willem Dafoe, Catherine O’Hara, and Randy Moss, among others. Watch until the 0:45 time stamp to catch Crouser and (presumably) his massive palm crushing the ball in frustration of being hustled by the two Hollywood legends.

Nike CEO making the case for a brand rebuild

Amidst a steady two-year stock decline and growing competition from newcomers, industry stalwart Nike’s CEO Elliott Hill is actively engaging with analysts and retailers to communicate the company’s turnaround strategy. He emphasizes a renewed focus on innovation, a refocus on wholesale, and a return to Nike’s core culture to address recent challenges, with an expected recovery to be seen in the 2nd quarter of their 2026 fiscal calendar. For context, David Monti recently shared on Bluesky, “Nike’s stock lost 44% over the last two years. An investment in an unmanaged S&P 500 index fund over the same period gained 49%.”
