Trevor Bassitt is taking his talents down to the sunshine state.
The World Championships bronze medalist in the 400m hurdles announced on Monday that he’d made the move from Ohio to Gainesville, Florida and will be coached by the legendary Mike Holloway.
“With Day 1 in the books now seems like a good time to announce my wife and I moved down to Gainesville in November to join Coach Holloway and the pro group there, he said on Instagram. Excited to get rolling with the best training group out there 🐊🦾”
Bassitt had a fantastic season that brought him great success. It started with him taking home a silver medal at the World Indoor Championship in the 400m. He followed that by winning the title in the 400m hurdles at the NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships. His time of 47.47 secured his spot on the U.S. World Championship team with a runner-up performance in the 400m hurdles.
Less than a month later, Bassitt took home the bronze medal in the event, while running a new personal best of 47.39.
Bassitt will be training with an elite group of athletes that includes Grant Holloway, Quanesha Burkes and Anna Hall.
