Is it too early to think about the 2036 Olympics?
Well that’s certainly not the case for the citizens of Seoul, South Korea. The Global Research poll that was released on Monday revealed that a little over 72% of the people who participated in the poll approved of the Olympics being held in Seoul.
South Korea is known for hosting large sporting events. In 1988, the Olympic Games were held in Seoul, PyeongChang held the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, while the 2011 World Championships for track and field were held in Daegu, just to name a few.
The Youth Winter Games will also be held in Gangwon in 2024. There’s no timetable for when the 2036 Olympic Games location will be announced, but Seoul hopes to be considered. Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, is set to announce the city’s bid at the Association of National Olympic Committees meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland that starts today and ends on Monday.
Paris and Los Angeles will host the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games, respectively.
