Following all the great track and field content on YouTube can be quite an undertaking. We watch through as much as we can throughout the week to highlight what particularly stood out to us.
Should there be additional video content you believe should be on our regular rotation, please tell us about it here in the Wind Aided forum. Also, make sure to check out all the great channels posted to our channel glossary and maybe you will find something new to add to your feed!
Clayton Murphy
Clayton got this really right! He shared behind-the-scenes pre-race moments – and then crushed an 800m. I can only assume that he knew he was going to have a very special race – or maybe he found an extra gear partly because he had an awesome YouTube opportunity in motion? “I’m back!” We’re the winners. Enjoy!
Allie Ostrander
Allie describes it best: “This video sums up my thought process on getting back into racing. I talk about why I’ve waited so long to start competing again, how recovery is going, what some of my biggest struggles are, and how I am shifting my mindset. I also do a track workout and hurdle practice so if you are just here for workout inspo, I’ve got you covered :)”
FloTrack
The Newbury boys get the most hype, but holy moly there are so many super strong high schoolers this year. Here’s one example. The Florida State meet 800m produced a state record 1:48 win and 7 boys under 1:54. Rheinhardt Harrison left the impression that there’s much more in his tank, leading the whole 1:48 and unpressed down the stretch.
World Athletics
The javelin is just super cool. WA put together a concise collection of the winning javelin throwers from the last three World Champs. Love the diversity of the countries that have produced gold medalists: Kenya, Germany, and Grenada in this video, plus India at the Tokyo Olympics. Thought: Should baseball pitchers hurl themselves forward after their pitches?
Total Running Productions
Sprint news this year is fairly overwhelming with awesome times at the high school, college, and pro level from many women and men, so it’s easy to overlook that Trayvon Bromell quietly signaled that he’s very much in top form leading to the big meets this year. Here he pretty much coasts a 9.92.
