Morning Routine of a Pro Runner

I will be the first to admit that I feel personally attacked by the aesthetic and productive morning routine videos that are all over TikTok and Instagram. I have simply never been that person that wakes up, drinks lemon water, puts on a matching workout set, and does pilates. However, I do see the benefits of having a consistent morning routine. For this reason, I spent much of 2023 slowly stacking habits to create an ideal morning routine for my happiness and productivity.

This routine was not created to emulate the routines I see online or to dramatically change my life. It was created to add structure to my morning, increase my productivity, and set me up for success every day of the week. I chose the habits that I found most beneficial and slowly incorporated them into my routine so that it never felt like a drastic change–just a bunch of very small changes over a long period of time. Of course, what works for me might be completely different than what works for someone else, so this isn’t made to be instructive, just to give a glimpse into my life and maybe provide some inspiration for habits to add to your own routine.
