It’s officially official.

World Athletics announced on Tuesday that the world records set this summer by Sydney McLaughlin, Mondo Duplantis, Tobi Amusan and Letsile Tebogo are now ratified.

“Amusan’s 12.12 in the women’s 100m hurdles semifinals, Duplantis’s 6.21m in the men’s pole vault final and McLaughlin’s 50.68 in the women’s 400m hurdles final are all now officially in the record books, as is the world U20 mark of 9.94 set by Letsile Tebogo in the men’s 100m heats,” World Athletics said in the official press release.

McLaughlin’s time of 51.46 at the USATF Championships was also ratified in addition to the aforementioned times.

The record performances from Amusan, McLaughlin and Duplantis all took place at the World Championships in Eugene this past summer, while Tebogo’s time took place at the U20 World Championships in Cali, Colombia.

Tebogo is awaiting his record-winning time of 9.91 in the final of the men’s 100m to be ratified by World Athletics.

McLaughlin, as well as Duplantis are the only athletes on the list who have broken the world record multiple times, with Duplantis setting the record five times in the pole vault and McLaughlin setting the 400m hurdle world record four times.

I’m a sports journalist based in Florida and I’ve covered a couple of different sports so far early on in my career, but I love the sport of track and field and the art of running. Everyone has a story and everyone has a story worth telling. My prayer is that the stories of the great athletes of this sport are told, and that the sport grows to new creative heights, so that the sport gets the respect it deserves.
