The Union Athletics Club has a new addition to the star studded roster.

Michaela Meyer announced on Tuesday that she’s taking her talents to Oregon to join the running club, which is led by coach Pete Julian

“I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be joining Union Athletics Club and working with Pete Julian!” she said on Instagram. “I have big goals for 2023 and beyond and I believe UAC will take me there! I’m excited to start the next chapter of my athletic career in Portland….sorry East Coast!”

Meyer took home the NCAA title last year in the women’s 800m as a member of the University of Virginia’s track and field team. She also finished fourth in the women’s 800m at the Olympic Trials, just missing the Olympic team.

She will be joining the talented roster of athletes that include Sinclaire Johnson, Raevyn Rogers, Jessica Hull and Jordan Hasay.

I’m a sports journalist based in Florida and I’ve covered a couple of different sports so far early on in my career, but I love the sport of track and field and the art of running. Everyone has a story and everyone has a story worth telling. My prayer is that the stories of the great athletes of this sport are told, and that the sport grows to new creative heights, so that the sport gets the respect it deserves.
