Real Talk with Hurdle Star Trey Cunningham

This week on RealTalk, I had a great time talking with one of America’s top hurdlers Trey Cunningham. Born and raised in Alabama, it didn’t take long for Trey to make his way to track and field history. As a senior in high school Trey broke the U20 record, being the first athlete to run under 7.50. He currently holds the ACC record, and also won three consecutive ACC championships. Trey won his first National Championship this year with a time of 7.38, the second-fastest time in NCAA history. With 240 steps left in his college career, Cunningham is currently gearing up for his final ACC Championship held in Durham, North Carolina.

Off the track Trey writes a column on Mile Split called “TREY talks” where he shares personal experiences from his point of view? My favorite article is called “In your biggest moment, Take a breath” https://www.milesplit.com/articles/312411/trey-cunningham-in-your-brightest-moment-take-a-breath Also apart from track Trey has had many opportunities to model, which I think he will get into later on.

In this episode, Trey takes us through his entire journey from the beginning. Born and raised in Windfield City, Alabama he shares what he went through to get in the position he is currently in. Trey became a star athlete at such a young age, he told us how he found balance and blocked out the expectations put on him. Cunningham has had many opportunities to turn Professional, listen in to hear why he finished his eligibility.
