RealTalk with Britton Wilson

This week on Real Talk, I had an amazing time catching up with World Gold Medalist Britton Wilson. Born and raised in Virginia, this is not your average track star story. Wilson actually started as a gymnast /dancer following in her sister’s shoes, she started track and field at the age of 13. Last season Britton was the first athlete in history ever to win both events, 400m (50.05) and the 400mh (53.75) within an hour apart at the SEC Conference Outdoor Championships. That same day, Wilson also split 48.60 on the 4by 400 relay, fastest time ever split by a collegian.

Off the track Britton is just as amazing, during the pandemic she stepped out on faith and auditioned for American Idol and impressively made it past the first round. She also owns two guitars, and taught herself how to play them….IMPRESSIVE

In this episode, Britton takes us through her entire journey. She shares with us how essential her support system is, and how they help her through any adversity that comes her way. With track and field being so mentally tough, Britton takes us through her approach when she’s dealing with a heavy load on the track. She shared she has been dealing with some stress reactions in her shins this fall, so she’s been cross training to get ready for next season!
