Real Talk with World Indoor Bronze Medalist Marvin Bracy-Williams

This week on RealTalk, I had a stunning time meeting with World Indoor Bronze Medalist Marvin Bracy-Williams. Born and raised in Florida, Marvin pursued professional careers in both track and football. In his first years as a professional track athlete he won three consecutive US National Championships (60m).  Marvin is gearing up for outdoors following a whirlwind IAAF World Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.

After not playing organized football since 2012, Marvin was signed briefly to the Indianapolis Colts, and shortly after the Seattle Seahawks. “I just wasn’t good enough,” he shared as we got into his return to the track and field world.

In this episode, Marvin takes us through both of his careers from the very beginning. Growing up in Orlando, Florida, he faced many adversities which helped him develop into the confident athlete he is today. Marvin shared that his motivation comes directly from his son. Unexpectedly opening his 2022 season at the US Indoor Championships, Marvin aimed straight toward the podium at Indoor World Champions. One of the closest 60m finals I have ever seen, he earned a 3rd place finish (6.44sec). I am hyped to see what Marvin brings to Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon at the World Outdoor Championships!

This was a very authentic conversation, Marvin also gave insights on some of the track beef/controversy that has been rising in our community along with advice to young athletes coming up in the game.

Stroll down to see a clip of Marvin’s advice to our next generation of track stars.
