Garrett Heath and Anna Dalton reigned victorious at the 2022 USATF Half Marathon Trail Championships in Wisconsin.
Heath, who’s known for his consistency on the track and cross country course, took to the trails this time around, and he took home the win with his time of 1:13:44.
“There is always going to be some pain out there, but then I kind of enjoy that part,” Heath said to Lin Gentling after the race.
Andy Wacker finished as the runner up with his time of 1:16.22, while Tom Sederquist finished in third place with his time of 1:18.03.
Anna Dalton took home her first national championship after winning her race with her time of 1:30:17.
“I’ve never been a national champion,” Dalton told Lin Gentling. “This is my first time. I was born and raised in a ski-centric community in Anchorage, so this also really feels a lot like home.” Like many others, Anna found the course to her liking, “I loved the course. I think my favorite part was the single-track sections. It’s just beautiful in there.”
Megan Lacy finished as the runner-up with her time of 1:32.34, while Kristen Monahan finished in third with her time of 1:42:35.
