This week on Real Talk I had the best time attending The Prefontaine Classic, Diamond League meet held in Eugene, Oregon. Hayward Field was as beautiful as ever with the new HUGE Jumbotron lighting up the track. I had the pleasure of speaking with two of America’s favorite sprinters, Sha’Carri Richardson & Twanisha (Tee Tee) Terry. Both of these amazing ladies competed over 100m this weekend.
Sha’Carri with just her second race of the season finished runner up with a time of 10.92. Placing second, I know she isn’t satisfied but it’s a great race to add to her resume this season. Sha’Carri at the age of 22 is one of the ten fastest women in history with a personal best of 10.75 seconds.
Tee Tee competed in her first ever Diamond League meet, finishing fifth with a time of 10.98. I can tell she is gearing up to start running blazing times as we close in on the USA Championships. Tee Tee has already won gold medals while representing America; her personal best time in the 100m is 10.89 seconds.
Both of these ladies train together in Florida under coach Dennis Mitchell with Star Athletics. Once rivals now teammates, so I had to ask how they became friends.
